Congratulations to Colin Rafferty and his Scorpions Pool Team. The North Belfast outfit clinched the League Championship title tonight Tuesday 6th March and they done it in style with a resounding 13-1 win away over Alpha in Rathcoole. It's a well deserved win, when the chips were down, Scorpions delivered in the big matches.
In the scrap for second position Trojans at home to Hit Men and Her in Whitehead Rangers Club was definitely a game of two halves. The visitors were outstanding in the first session taking a healthy 5-2 lead but the hosts turned the tables in the second half bouyed by a superb Roisin Smith hat trick to take all three points in an 8-6 win. Doagh Dragons kept the pressure on Trojans courtesy of an 8-6 home win in McConnells over Ballbreakers. But they had to win the last two racks to secure the points, Kyle Kirkwood winning the all important final frame. In Greenisland Galacticos came from 0-3 down to register an 8-6 win over a gallant Vikings side, Paul Harris winning Frame 14. Last but not least Colts travelled to the Times Bar and came away with all three points against The Tigers. In a tight match the visitors Thomas Kidd won the last frame to give his side an 8-6 result.
