In week 4 of The SKC Carrick & District Pool League
the league positions are beginning to settle.
Scorpions v ColtsThere was no change at the top as Scorpions put on a solid
display to retain their number one position.
They raced to a 5-0 lead with wins
for Chris Carson. Darren Whiteside, Lee McIlreavey, Paul Kerr and Mervyn
McIlvenney with a sublime break and dish. Jack Carson stopped the rot with a Colts
frame.
Scorpions reeled off another quick fire 4 in a row to secure the points
and prevent the bonus point, with further wins for Paul Kerr, Lee McIlreavey, Chris
Carson and a break and dish from Darren Whiteside.
Jack Carson took another Colts
frame before Paul Kerr, Darren Whiteside and Chris Carson made their hat
tricks. Best for colts was Jack Carson on 2/3. Final score Scorpions 12 Colts
2.
Trojans v Tigers
This was a game of two halves. The Tigers stormed to a 5/2 lead at halftime before the Trojans rattled of seven in a row to take the match 9/5. Man of the match was Stuart Kelly winning 3/3.
Q Club v Bowlers
Q Club returned to action in the SKC Carrick and District Pool League with a 13-1 win against the Bowlers. Although a deserved win there is no doubt the scoreline flattered the hosts with a couple of frames that the visitors should have won. Overall a very enjoyable match played the right way. No question the Bowlers will improve as the season goes on especially as they get use to Blackball rules.
Hat tricks for Rorie McAllister, Tyler McKee and Ryan Scott with veteran Alan Johnston picking up a brace. Gareth McIlwrath notching up a frame for the Bowlers.
Rockets v Galacticos
Rockets returned to action in the Whiteabbey Legion against reigning champions the Galacticos. The Galacticos got off the mark first and raced into a 3 nil lead with the next four frames going in favour of the Rockets with a 3-1 scoreline.
The first 4 frames of the second session were shared at 2 frames each. The Galacticos then went two clear in frames 11 & 12 only needing one more for the win. But it wasnt to be as the Rockets fought back to level the scores once again. A very fair result with some good pool being played on the night
Trebles from Rab Butler and Johnny Johnston / Braces from Gary Wallace, Dean Mcdonagh, & Neil McFaul, who remains on 100% at the top of the player of the year stats.
