Eastway 7-7 Barbarians Barbarians got off to a great start by storming into a 5-1 lead up at Rathcoole. Eastway won the final frame of the first session to reduce the arrears to 3 frames. But the visitors guaranteed themselves of at least a point with a brace straight after the interval. At 7-2 up Michael Lowry could have been forgiven for thinking it thought a formality to go home to Greenisland with the 3 points. But what a comeback from Tom Larmours boys as they reeled off 5 in a row to take a share off the spoils in a 7-7 draw. Scorers for Eastway were R.Whiteside (2), D.Willis (2), M.Greer (1), G.Orr (1) and L.McCord (1). For the Barbars it was H.Regan (3), M.Porter (2), P.Akehurst (1) and M.Lowry (1)
Valkyries 2-12 Pirates. Pirates kept the pressure on the 3 teams above them at the top with a convincing win at joint bottom Valkyries. Although they trailed 2-1 early doors, they took 11 in a row to finish up 12-2 victors. Valkyries point scorers were A.Galloway and S.Peoples. For the visitors it was C.Carson (3), J.McMurtry (2), H.McMurtry (2), A.Corrigan (2), P.McCaffrey (2), R.McMurtry (1)
Spartans 10-4 MSC Trojans. Spartans chasing the Rockers at the top couldnt have wished for a better start against Rab Brown's MSC Trojans. They took every frame in the first session with some eye pleasing pool. And although they lost the second session 4-3, the damage had been done in that first half blitz. Scorers for the hosts were N.McKelvey (3), E.McDowell (2), K.English (2, 1x break and dish, 1x 8 ball clearance), E.Martin (1), S.McWhirter (1), D.Lowe (1). Scoring one a piece for MSC Trojans were R.McMaw, J.Murdock, M.McIlvenny and D.Montgomery.
