Colts had a home draw against stablemates, The Galacticos who raced to a 0-3 lead with wins for T Leggett, P Roberts & an eight ball clearance from P Harris. A. Watters took the fourth for the home side. C Beckinsale had his chance to win the fifth but fell short. S McAlister took full advantage and stretched the visitors lead to 1-4. T J Patton pulled one back. M Wilson won the last frame of the first half giving Galacticos a 2-5 lead. S McAlister showed no mercy in ripping out a great clearance even potting two at a time. P Watters got the Colts third of the night. Wins from N McFall & P Roberts secured an 3-8 Win for Galacticos to progress to the next round.
Vikings hosted the league champions, The Scorpions. Tyler Mckee looked to be on for a break and dish before snookering himself on his last ball. Scorpions' 'Hatchet man', Lee McIlreevy sublimely ripped out his 8 reds to put the Scorpions 1 up. Paul Kerr made it 2. Colin Rafferty, Darren Haddock and Darren Whiteside made it 0-5. Aaron Rolston pulled one back for the Vikings with a lovely pressure finish. The league’s player of the year, Paul Kerr ripped out the finish of the night, an outrageous reverse dish from nowhere, making it 1-6 at the interval. Ryan Scott began the short lived come-back winning the first frame of the second half. Captain fantastic, Colin Rafferty put the Scorpions on the hill and the league’s open individual’s champion, Darren Whiteside sealed the 2-8 victory.
Cockweasels hosted reigning KO Cup Champions, Hitmen & Her: The first frame went to the home side. But Hit Men & Her rattled of four frames in a row which saw them leading 5.2 at the break. The second was a tighter affair but Hit Men & Her got the three frames they needed for a good win. Special mention goes to Fitzy with 3/3 on the night.
