What an absolutely fantastic match we had in the Knockout Cup Prelim in Whitehead Rangers Club tonight between the hosts Trojans and visitors Galacticos. It swung one way then the other before fittingly ending in a draw and going into a deciding Play Off frame. Derek Whitesides' Greenisland lads got off to a flying start leading 4-1 after five racks but Tristan Scott-Heyes' Trojans took the final two frames of the first session to stay well in the match. Trojans led for the first time at 6-5 but after the 14th black had been potted it was all square and into a decider. Up stepped Neil McFaul for Galacticos to send his team into the next round by taking out a precise 8 ball clearance holding good position for every shot much to the delight of his manager and team mates. Best for Galacticos were Marty Goudie and Neil McFaul on 3/3 for Trojans Robert Hawkins scored 2/2 with Ed McDowell and Steven Carson on 2/3.
