Newly crowned league champions the Swift travelled to take the Hitmen & Her, a must win for the home side if they were to stay in contention for third place. With the title wrapped up, the visitors’ attention switched to keeping their unbeaten record going.  The small matter of 2 players from each side being in with a very good shot at the player of the year title made for an interesting evening. For the second week running the Hitmen found themselves getting hit for 6 as the champions took out both session 6-1 with hat-tricks for Kyle Kirkwood and Rab Butler, Andy Arbuthnot bagging 2/2 and Dee Irwin 2/3 it really was another night for the Monkstown team to forget.
Second placed The Scorpions travelled to take on the Greenisland Colts.  The hosts went for it in the first session and looked to be giving the visitors food for thought. However, the second half was a different matter as Johnny Thompson’s lads ran out the first 6 frames to make sure of the points, R Boyle took the last to give himself a full house 2/2. Best for the visitors P Kerr hat-trick, D Whiteside 2/2, C Rafferty 2/3.
With the Doagh Weapons recording a walk over due to the Teddy Bears being unable to field a team, the Galacticos had to go to Whitehead and get a result against an in-form Spartans team if they were to keep their chances alive for third place and the last envelope available on prize night. The visitors got down to business straight away, taking 4 of the first 5 frames before Kenny English and Ed McDowell steadied the ship for the hosts. After the break Darren Lowe levelled things up and a match seemed to be on the cards, but that was to be the last frame of the night for the Spartans as the Galacticos made sure of the remaining 6 frames. Best for the visitors J Mackay 2/3, P Harris 2/2, C Carson 2/2.
The Cowboys entertained the Whitehead Trojans, and with first blood to the visitors Davy Douglas making a rare appearance got the party going for the hosts with a run of 9 frames for the hosts that included a sub 1 min break and finish from Marty Goudie on his way to 2/2. Young Reece McMurtry potting his last red from a snookered position then taking a tough black and Davy completing a well taken hat-trick meant manager Hugh McMurtry went home a happy man for the second week in a row. Best for the visitors Gary Fitzsimmons 2/3
The Eastway played host for the Rathcoole derby evening and had everything their own way, winning both sessions 5-2 with hat-tricks for D Flanigan and D Whiteside, T Greer 2/3 and M Greer completing a good night’s pool 2/2. Angie Carson, Angie Willis, Mark Kitson and Johnny Blair on the score card for The Alpha.
Greenisland Working Men’s Club played host to Clare Roberts’ Warriors and with a full strength team in attendance the hosts had a match on their hands. Both teams shared the first 2 frames of the evening before the visitors got the run of the ball and opened up a 3 frame lead, however the rub of the green seemed to be doing the rounds as the hosts got themselves back on level terms at 4 each. Warriors duo of Johnny Johnston and Gee Crawley not for the first time this season made the difference on the night with well taken patient hat-tricks in their usual gentlemanly manner, also for the visitors Tucker 2/3 and for the hosts Hugh Reagan 2/3.
