Its now official. Greenisland Galacticos are the 2013/2014 CITY AIR EXPRESS Carick & District Pool League Champions. They sealed the title with an 11-3 win at Alpha and no one can deny they were the best team over the distance. Derek Whitesides team will now receive an invite to represent Carrick League in the NIPA Champions of Champions Competition along with Cup Winners The Swift. Swift and Cowboys both won to take the race for second to the final game of the season. Cowboys edged it 8-6 in Whitehead against Trojans after trailing 2-5 at the interval, best for the visitors was Chris Carson with a treble with Lee Topping for Trojans scoring his second consecutive treble. Spartans ended their League campaign 4th in the table, they led Scorpions 5-1 then trailed 5-7 but had Michael Wilson and Kenny English to thank for rescuing a point. HM&H laboured to a point at home to Teddy Bears, they won the first session 4-3 but lost the second by a similar scoreline, Rab Brown won the all important 14th frame for the Bears. Honours were also even between Barbarians and Eastway whilst GWMSC just got over the line against Warriors by winning the last two frames off the match.
