Greenisland Galacticos have moved clear on points at the top of the City Air Express Carrick & District Pool League. They laboured for a while at home to a brave Warriors team but eventually ran out 9-5 winners to preserve their 100% record. The only other team with a 100% record, The 39ERS, lost away to Spartans in Whitehead by 8-6. Spartans led 5-2 at the interval but the Ballyclare team stormed back to draw level at 5-5 with 4 to play. But it was to no avail as the hosts won the next 3 on the trot to secure the 3 points. For Spartans Stephen Johnston had a delightful 8 ball clearance and for 39ERS captain Kyle Kirkwood had a classy break and dish. Glen Burns's GWMSC had a great win away to Scorpions in Whiteabbey RBL to move up into 2nd spot. They won 6 out of the last 8 frames to keep tight on the heels of stablemates the Galacticos. Barbarians and HM& H had an entertaining 7-7 draw with the visitors captain Robert Henderson scoring an impressive hat trick which included a fine break and dish. Barbarians leader Michael Lowry had an 8 ball clearance in the opening frame of the match but it was down to Stuart Mulhearn to rescue a point for Barbars in the last frame of the match. Cowboys finally done what we know they are capable of with a resounding 12-2 victory over Eastway in Rathcoole. There were hat tricks for Chris Carson, Steven Carson and stalwart Alan Corrigan. Paul Roberts's Swift team are up and running albeit with a narrow win over Whitehead Trojans though they needed to win the last 2 frames of the match to secure the points.
