After narrowly losing out by the odd frame in the final of the Brian Brady Memorial Competition the previous night, Whitehead Trojans faced the newly crowned League Champions The Rockers once again this time in the League. And Trojans defied their lowly position to nearly become only the 2nd team to take maximum points off Andy Arbuthnots men this season. The Whitehead team led 7-5 needing only 1 frame for victory, but like the true champs they are, Rockers dug deep to take the last 2 and share the points.
Andy Lyndsay's Teddy Bears led comfortably at the interval by a 5-2 scoreline at Warriors, but were relieved to head back up the Shore Road to Carrick with all 3 points courtesy of a tight 8-6 win.
MSC Trojans also took maximum points away from home and also by an 8-6 margin, when they visited Alpha.
The battle for 2nd place is heating up. After tonights results Spartans (13-1), Greenisland (4-10) and Castle (14-0), all three teams sit level on 58 points with only 2 fixtures each left to play.
HM&H registered a 14-0 over Scorpions and Michael Lowry's Barbarians had a bye this week.
