A big congratulations to Dee Irwin who is the new 2010 Carrick & District Pool League Individual Champion. The Castle cueman stormed to the title in fine style over the 2 days of the Competition which was held in Whitehead GRSC. Well done to Stephen McWhirter too in a bold attempt to defend the title he won last year. Both players will agree that the final was scrappy and frame wins had to be ground out rather than won in quality clearances, which both these players are more accustomed to. But the 6th frame proved pivotal as Spartan McWhirter was unlucky to snooker himself on his last colour. Big Dee never looked back after he won it to lead 4-2 and it wasn't long before he wrapped up the Title by taking the next 2 frames. Dee joins the elite group who have won our League Individual Crown on more than one occasion, his last win being in 2008.
