Acorn Blinds Knock out Cup Results

Enthusiastic Amateurs from Glen Inn in Glengormley travelled down to Whitehead Rangers Supporters Club to play their first fixture in the seaside venue since joining this year's Carrick & District Pool League.

It was a Last Sixteen Knockout Cup match sponsored by Acorn Blinds NI and it was a straight race to eight frames to decide who progressed into the Quarter Finals of the competition.

Spartans started well with the in form Mark Millar winning the first rack and Paddy Graham doubled the gap with a fine break and dish in the next. It was soon a one frame deficit again as Jordan Oliver finished well in Frame Three for the Glengormley team.

Spartans then took control winning three on the bounce courtesy of Mark Millar, Paddy Graham and Robert Hawkins. Paul Leslie gave Amateurs hope winning the last rack of the First Session, Spartans now leading 5-2. Robert Hawkins and Paddy Graham increased the lead to put Spartans on the hill at 7-2 but Kenny English potted the black mid frame to gift Dean Best the win and bring it back to 7-3. Alas for the visitors it was game over in the next, Trevor Whiteside taking out a fine finish to ensure Spartans a Quarter Final berth.
