The hosts took the lead with a sublime finish from Aaron Rolston. Paul Harris made it 2-0 after an edgy frame before Stephen Johnston pulled one back for the visitors in another gritty affair. Paul Kerr equalised with a sublime break and finish in the next.
Chris Carson took out a composed finish in the next to restore the home team's advantage before Johnston equalised for the visitors with another patiently won frame. Gary Wallace put the home team ahead at half time after being given an unlikely chance by Davy Blair.
Rolston took the first of the second half to give the Galacticos a 5-3 lead with another pinpoint finish. Jason Hefferon pulled one back for the visitors before Chris Carson re-established the home team's two frame advantage with a sublime reverse dish.
Aaron Leslie took the next and the game was set for the next three frames to be tense.
Scorpions captain Lee McIlreavey and Galacticos elder statesman Paul Harris fought out the next but an uncharacteristic in off by Paul let Hatchet in with two visits to equalise.
Paul Kerr then put the away team ahead for the first time in the tie capitalising on an in off in the break and clearing the table. Chris Carson held his nerve in a tense last frame to split the points.

This is Usually a Close Encounter Between the Two Teams tonight was par for the course. The first four frames were shared 2-2 before Tigers took the next three frames to open up a 5-2 lead at the break.
