This weeks league match results and reports

It's the last Carrick Pool League sponsored by SKC Gaming league match reports of the season before Christmas.

Trojans knocked Rockets off the top spot with an 8-6 win.

This was a very close affair and the match rocked from one team to another. At half time it was 4/3 Trojans but the Rockets stormed back to make it 6/6. Trojans sensed a win against the top four was on the cards and pushed hard to take the last two frames. Final score 8/6 Trojans mvp Stuart Kelly 3/3.

Scorpions Vs Q Club

Darren Whiteside took the first frame of the night before Kenny English Levelled. Paul Kerr put the Scorpions back in front and Mervyn McIlvenny put the Scorpions 3-1 up. William Irvine and Kenny English hit back to level the scores before Chris Carson gave the Scorpions a slender 4-3 lead at the interval.
Kenny English took his 3rd frame of the night with a lovely finish to level the scores again. Scorpions knew they needed to dig deep. Paul Kerr, Chris Carson, Lee McIlreevy took the Scorpions to the hill at 7-4. The Q Club still were capable of a draw and the manager asked Scorpions to keep the focus. Paul Kerr replied, “Hold my beer” before breaking and ripping out a sublime finish to give Scorpions all 3 points and put them back to the top of the league. Darren Whiteside took the next and Chris Carson ripped out another break and dish to finish off a great match of two very different halves of pool. Final Score Scorpions 10 Q Club 4. Top Cueists Paul Kerr 3/3 Chris Carson 3/3 Kenny English 3/3.

Bowlers Vs Galacticos

It was an enjoyable night as the Bowlers hosted Galacticos, some decent craic and laughs all round.
At the end of the first half Galacticos led 7-0, although a few frames easily could have gone either way. It was frame 10 before the Bowlers took a frame, Gareth McIlwrath winning against Neil McFaul with a nice clearance to finish. Paul Ford won the 12th frame against Paul Harris taking the bowlers to 2 frames. Galacticos mopped up the last 2 frames but not without a fight from Max Reilly and Ian Reilly. Best performers from Galacticos were Gary Wallace 3/3 and Trevor Whiteside 3/3 with Paul Harris, Neil McFaul and Derek Whiteside taking 2 frames each.
A lot of very close frames on the night, final score Bowlers 2 – Galacticos 12.
