Semi Final draw (Ties to be played Mondays 18th & 25th February)
Spartans v HM&H
Scorpions v Castle
- Scorpions were the first team into the hat for the Semi Finals of the Home & Away Cup. They won the 4 frames required against Alpha without reply as they vie to retain the Cup they won last season.
- Next through were HM&H. The Monkstown team led Whitehead Trojans 9-5 from the first leg but had a bit of a scare as they trailed 2-4 on the night after the first 6 frames. But that was all the Whitehead team could muster, and Robert Henderson's team took the next 4 frames to secure a Semi Final spot. they are still on course for what would be a unique double of Knock Out Cup and Home & Away Cup.
- Spartans knew they still had a battle on their hands even with a 9-5 1st Leg advantage over League leaders The Rockers. They travelled up to Whiteabbey RBL prepared for a scrap. But even a sublime Dee Irwin hat trick wasn't enough to overturn the deficit for Rockers as Spartan Darren Lowe took advantage of an unforced error to take his team through in Frame 12. Darren Sterrett was best for the visitors also with a fine hat trick.
- And last but not least Castle made the last 4 after a titanic tussle over the 2 Legs with Cowboys. Cowboys trailed 9-5 from last week but they fought back to actually lead 13-12 on aggregate. Castle needed to dig deep, and they did just that, taking the final 3 frames to scrape through 15-13. Trevor Whiteside was the man of the moment, winning the all important 28th Frame to complete a vital hat trick for himself.
