Castle rocked
. It looked all over for Rockers when they trailed 1-5 at Castle, but they showed true grit and team spirit in an amazing comeback in which they won 7 out of the next 8 frames to stun a very strong Castle team. Wayne Lewis was the hero of the hour as he ripped out an 8 ball clearance in the 14th and final frame.
. Cup holders the Spartans went 0-3 down at the ever improving MSC Trojans but they were more than delighted to head back down the coast to Whitehead with their name still in the draw for the next round after scraping home 8-6. For the hosts Mervyn McIlvenny and Davy Montgomery both scored 2/2 as did Spartans Captain Kenny English and Stephen McWhirter.
. Cowboys got their first win of the season at the Warriors, they led 5-2 at the interval and eased to victory 8-3. Roy McMurtry will be hoping this win will kick start their indifferent League form too.
. What a match at Rathcoole as Alpha and Teddy Bears batled out a 7-7 draw. But it was the hosts G.Greer who held his nerve to take the play off frame for a nailbiting 8-7 win.
. There were convincing 8-2 wins for Greenisland over Eastway, Scorpions over lowly Barbarians and Hit Men & Her over Jolly Beggar.
