Tuesday 23rd December was our last matches of the first half of the season. What a match was had by the tigers and the bowlers at the bowling club, the tigers raced into a 5 - 1 lead superb start. The bowlers won the last frame before the half time stage to make it 5 - 2. The bowlers had brilliant 2nd half winning the first frame before the tigers won the next 2 which took it to 7 - 3 to the tigers. The bowlers won the next 3 to bring it back to 7 - 6 the bowlers only needed the last frame to make it a draw which would of been a superb comeback but well done to Tom Mcgurk on winning the last frame for the tigers to win the match 8 - 6 brilliant match and wonderful night had by all for the final match before the Xmas break. Best players of the night where Sam Sloan, Tom Mcgurk and Johnny Eccles for the tigers all winning 2 out 3 frames each and David Craig and Sam Millar both winning 2 out of 3 frames each as well for the bowlers. Merry Xmas and a happy new year to all.
In the Times Bar Whiteabbey Legion eased to a 2-0 lead via evergreen 🌲 Andy Arbuthnott and Darren O’Neil.
Scorpions’ Paul Kerr and Darren Whiteside brought it back to 2-2, after Mark Porter went in off a black.
The next four frames were also shared via legion’s star man, Rab Butler and Darren McFarland.
Scorpions’ man of the moment, Stephen Johnston was in scintillating form, taking one before the half time interval and then executing the finish of the night just after the break, inspiring the Scorpions into gear.
Davy Blair broke and dished in the next followed by Paul Kerr, Aaron Leslie and Darren Whiteside with his second to get the Scorpions over the winning line 8-4.
Paul Kerr soon secured his hat trick and Lee McIlreavey made it 7-0 in the second half and a final score of Times Bar Scorpions10 - Legion 4.
