Big wins, narrow defeats, bonus points, a couple of draws and Tiger moves to the top of the player of the year in the Carrick District Pool League sponsored by SKC Gaming NI Ltd.
Whiteabbey Royal British Legion welcomed the Greenisland Colts and what a great match it was. Colts won the first game and the legion won the second. Legion won the first half 4/3. Colts won the second half 4/3. In all of the tension a draw was a fair result.
The Whitehead Trojans hosted a very strong 5 man team from the Times bar, the Scorpions, in Whitehead Rangers. Scorpions team captain Lee McIlreavy start the night off with a great break and dish. This was to set the standard for the night with next 3 frames won by the Scorpions with some top class pool from Paul Kerr, Aaron Leslie and Stephen Johnston. The next frame was won by Trojans Matthew Thompson, who was put into a great snooker by David Blair, but Matthew played out the shot of the night to get out of it and left himself on the black to win the frame. Frames 6 and 7 were shared with wins for Scorpions Paul Kerr and Trojans Christopher Hobson making it 2- 5 to Scorpions.
The Scorpions then kicked into gear winning the next 5 frames with some great finishing. Trojans Jared McFadden stopped the run, winning the next frame which give the Trojans 3 frames of the night with David Blair winning the last frame of the night giving the Scorpions a well deserved win 3- 11.
