No Change at the Top

Q Club ended their home campaign with a fine 10-4 win over Ballyclare’s Railway Blues in an entertaining encounter.
Pre match Q Club had to contend with the loss of 2 key players in Tyler McKee and Ryan Scott who are down in Killarney representing County Antrim. However this is what squad building is for and Q Club were still able to send out a strong 6 man team.
It was the Ballyclare men who took the early lead though via team captain Ryan Stewart and Craig Laughlin who stepped up when given the chance and confidently took their chances. Q Club Vice Captain Rorie McAllister knew he needed the third frame and duly delivered with a fine pressure clearance to get the Larne men back on track and the quality off the match went up further with an Ian McCalmont break and dish and a Ciaran O’Toole reverse dish to give Q Club a half time 4-3 lead.
The match went back on level terms straight away in the second half as Craig Laughlin added another reverse dish. It looked as if the match could go all the way however the home team managed to raise their game and take the next 6 frames to close the home campaign off with a win.
Shout outs must go to McCalmont for completing his hat trick and McAllister a double. Best on the night for the Railway Blues was captain Stewart and Laughlin with 2/3s.

Times Bar Scorpions hosted Rockets To Be. Mercurial Paul Kerr followed by Chris Carson gave the Scorpions a 2-0 lead before Captain Mark Porter pulled one back for the Whiteabbey Royal British Legion men. Chris Carson, Darren Whiteside and Colin Rafferty took the next 3 but again Captain Mark Porter dug deep keeping his team in the tie at 5-2. Paul Kerr and Michael Wilson put the Scorpions on the hill at 7-2 and Darren Whiteside secured a valuable 3 points. Paul Kerr chipped in for his hat trick followed by Michael Wilson and a brace for Colin Rafferty for the second Scorpion hat trick of the evening.
Final score Scorpions 12 Rockets To Be 2.

A strong start to this match for the Trojans of Whitehead with a hatrick of victories
However Greenisland Colt Aarron Watters would see his side off the starting blocks with a credible reverse dish win of the fourth
This would be followed by a win for Colt Captain Harry Warrick which would turn out to be the first of his 3 wins from 3 frames played on this particular evening
Next though came Trojan Stevie Quinn to stall the Colts Come back by winning what would prove to be his 2nd win from 3 played
The Colts took the next 2 to keep it a tight affair
Before the Trojans made it somewhat tit for tat taking the following 2
Next it really was a tense atmosphere as each team would take a win from each of the remaining 4 frames played with the difference perhaps being a 3 from 3 performance by Trojans second Quinn team member A . Quinn
A terrific match all together with a final result of Trojans 8 Colts 6
