Reigning champions, Scorpions faced Tigers who were narrowly
beaten in the final last year in a last frame play off.
Captain sensible, Colin Rafferty put the Scorpions ahead with a pin
point finish. Davy Flanagan levelled the scores with another lovely finish.
Deano Reid made it 2-1 putting Scorpions back in front. Tigers doubles pairing
of Steven Simpson and Chris Carson quickly equalised 2-2. Tigers went 3-2 up with
a fine finish from the doubles pairing of John Fulton and Alan Corrigan. The
pairing of Deano Reid and Darren Whiteside brought it back to 3-3 in what was
shaping up to be another very close final. Alan Corrigan and John Fulton took
the next in a single visit to give the Tigers the lead 4-3. Chris Carson put
the Tigers on the hill 5-3 before John Fulton took out the finish of the night
to give the Times Tigers their very first (and well deserved) winner’s trophy.
