DOAGH DRAGONS ARE CHAMPIONS !!!!
It's now official !!!!! Doagh Dragons are the new 2018-2019 Carrick & District Pool League Champions. They secured the title after winning 8-6 in a hard fought match away to Whitehead Trojans. And the result also means the McConnells of Doagh team are still on course to go through the League campaign unbeaten having only two matches to go. It didn't look good for Kyle Kirkwood's lads early on as they trailed by 4-1 but they pulled it back to 4-3 by the interval then pushed on to lead 6-5 with only three to play. The next two racks were shared and Trojans were battling for a draw that would keep them very much in the race for second place but it was a fitting end to the match and League title race for Dragons Captain Kyle Kirkwood as he stepped up to sink the winning black in Frame 14 to start the celebrations. Best for Trojans was the consistent Andy Arbuthnot with 3/3 and for Dragons it was top cueist Alaister Wilson also on 3/3.
