League Results from Week 6

Tuesday 30th October

What a match we had in Whitehead with Trojans and Hit Men & Her. It looked plain sailing for the seaside team as they raced in to a quick 3-0 lead but the Monkstown side who have underachieved to date this season stormed right back to lead 4-3 at the interval, highlight being a superb break and dish from Rab McMaw. Trojans started off well again in the second session taking a brace to lead 5-4 but again HM&H replied to regain the lead at 6-5. Another brace from the home side put them on the hill at 7-6 but the visitors were buoyed by the late arrival of Paul Henderson and he duly obliged by finishing well in the final frame. Honours shared at 7-7.

Cockweasels v Times Tigers. The first half was a tight affair and several frames could have went either way with tigers 4/3 up at the break. But the second half was a different affair with the Tigers taking six of the seven frames and taking the match 9/5. Special mention to Alan Corrigan with 3/3 on the night.

Galacticos travelled to Times Bar to take on the Scorpions. The home team romped to a 4 frame lead with wins for Rab McCullough, Lee McIlreevy, Johnny Johnston and Colin Rafferty. Rab Butler and Marty Goudie stopped the rot before Darren Whiteside made it 5-2 to the Scorpions at half time. The second half was all Galacticos as they reeled off the next 5 frames with wins for Marty Goudie, Shaun McCallister, Rab Butler, Trevor Whiteside and Neil McFaul. At 5-7 down, Paul Kerr and Lee McIlreevy dug deep to win the last two frames and share the points. 7-7.

Colts v Dragons: M Wilson edged out A Galloway in the first frame for the visitors. Wins for J Patton and P Watters put the home side 2-1 up. If the Colts had taken Wins for K Kirkwood, C Laughlin and two from A Wilson gave the visiting team a 2-5 lead at the interval. The next two were shared wins for M Wilson and A Watters. Dragons captain K Kirkwood took his side to the hill & G Fears confirmed all three points where going back up the road to Doagh. Colts going for the bonus point P Watters won but it wasn’t to be as wins for A Wilson and K Kirkwood completing hat-tricks for both players. Colts 4-10Dragons.

Alpha were beaten 3 -11 by the Vikings.
