Scorpions move three points clear at the top of the City Air Express Carrick & District Pool League after a thrilling 8-6 away win over second placed Whitehead Trojans. The North Belfast team trailed 4-3 at the break in a topsy turvy match but a sublime clearance from Gary Wallace in the final rack put his team in pole position as we reach the half way mark in the League calendar. And what a result for this seasons newcomers Times Tigers, they trailed a very strong Doagh Dragons team 6-3 but rallied to register a memorable 8-6 success, a scoreline that puts a severe dent in Dragons title ambitions. Tigers won the final five frames of the night, Stephen Simpson bringing home all three points in the last rack. Ball Breakers leapfrog Galacticos after success in the Greenisland derby match, Chris Carson winning the all important fourteenth frame in another match that ended 8-6. Hit Men & Her continued their recent good form with an untroubled 11-3 win at home to Alpha in Monkstown and last but not least Whitehead Vikings travelled to Greenisland and came away with all three points courtesy of a 9-5 win over Colts.
