Champions Galacticos got their title defence off to a resounding start with a 10-4 win away to Alpha in Rathcoole but it was a much tighter affair for last seasons Runners Up Scorpions as they trailed stablemates and League debutantes Tigers in their derby fixture by 5-2 at the interval. Scorpions rallied and just got over the line with an 8-6 win thanks to a last frame success from Johnny Johnston. Dragons overcame Hit Men & Her 9-5 and will surely be up there at the end of the season, Kyle Kirkwood having assembled a very strong squad. Another team who have strengthened are Rab Brown's Ballbreakers and they easily seen off Vikings by 12-2. Last but not least Trojans struggled early doors but eventually got stronger in overcoming Colts by 9-5 in Whitehead.
