Well done to Mix & Match Old Boys on winning the 2013/2014 Carrick & District Pool League 3 A Sides. Although only 5 teams entered it was a very competitive Competition played in the Greenisland WMSC on Saturday 31st May. The event was played to a round robin format with Semi Finals and a final.
Champions when the final black was potted were the Mix & Match Old Boys quartet (pictured right) of Joe Patton, John McClean, Robert Hawkins and newly appointed NIPA Seniors B2 team Manager Rab Brown. They were tied at 4-4 in the final against the talented Swifticos (Rab Butler, Trevor Whiteside & Paul Roberts) but the deciding frame itself ended up going to a 9 ball re rack. It was Mix & Match's Robert Hawkins who held his nerve potting a black down the rail to give the Old Boys the title.
