If Galacticos go on to win the league title this season they may look back at this match as pivotal. With rivals Cowboys having no match, Galacticos took on Spartans in Greenisland and it was all going wrong for the hosts as they trailed 3-4 at the interval then 3-5. But the appearance for the remainder of the second session of Trevor Whiteside and Paul Harris seemed to light a spark and Galacticos went on to win 5 out of the next 6 frames to get over the line at 8-6. Whiteside and Harris shared 4 frames between themselves, best for Spartans was Stephen Johnston with a stunning treble. On the table next to Galacticos v Spartans was the derby match between GWMSC and Barbarians. Inspired by 2 hat tricks from Tyler McConnell and Pearce Sharratt, the Barbarians belied their lowly league position to storm to a well deserved 10-4 win, with session scores of 5-2, 5-2. Up in Ballyclare. the much improved 39ERS overcame Scorpions by 10-4 (4-3, 6-1). Kyle Kirkwood and John McNeilly were top of the pots both bagging hat tricks. Swift consolidate their third position with a comfortable 11-3 home win over Teddy Bears whilst in the Rathcoole derby match Eastway ensured that Alpha stay bottom with a solid performance in an 11-3 success. Last but not least, Whitehead Trojans up and down season continues this time with an up as they outplayed Warriors in an 11-3 win (6-1, 5-2). Tristan Scott-Heyes, William Irvine and Thomas Fleming all scored maximum trebles.
