After a long hard league campaign, the 2012/2013 CITYAIREXPRESS Carrick & District Pool League season has come to an end.

Andy Arbuthnot's worthy Champions The Rockers finished off in style, winning 11-3 away to Alpha to record an amazing points tally of 77 out of a possible 84 which averages out at 10-4 per week. They also won the Charity Shield and the Brian Brady Memorial Shield and John McClean won the Seniors Individual crown. This seasons Home & Away Cup Winners The Spartans took the Runners Up spot, albeit on frame difference only, courtesy of an 11-3 home win over 4th placed Greenisland. There were hat tricks for Stephen Johnston and Captain Kenny English. But the Greenisland lads can be proud of their showing this season as they pushed the "Big 3" all the way and also took the 3 Man Team title. Their star player Rab McCullough also won the "Player of the Year" title with plenty to spare and Joe Patton won the Masters title. Castle beat Teddy Bears 12-2 to come in 3rd with hat tricks for Paul Roberts and Trevor Whiteside. A very respectable finish considering squad difficulties they had during the season. Add that to their Captain Trevor Whiteside winning the biggest Individual prize of them all and in reflection they can be more than happy. HM&H recorded a 14-0 win to take 5th spot, again a good finish which added to the Knock Out Cup win and Sara Greenbergs success in the Ladies Individual makes it even better. Jonny Thompson's Scorpions overcame Eastway 9-5 to finish in 6th. MSC Trojans had a bye this week and finish the table in 7th position. In 8th are Hugh McMurtry's Cowboys who had a 9-5 win away to Michael Lowry's Barbarians who finish 9th. Probably a disappointing league campaign for Cowboys after last years exploits but brothers Chris & Steven Carson won the Doubles title and Steven the Under 23s. Teddy Bears stay 10th and Whitehead Trojans stay in 11th spot. Gordon McCormick's team had a tight 8-6 win against Warriors in the Whitehead derby match, Martin Stubbs winning the all important 14th frame. The bottom 4 of Warriors, Alpha, Eastway and Jolly Beggar are unchanged.

Well done to all players and enjoy the summer break. Next seasons Charity Shield opener will see Rockers play HM&H.
