Rockers 9-5 Monkstown. R.Henderson got 2 shots against Rockers Captain J.McClean in Frame 1 but, when he didn't finish McClean took full advantage. P.Henderson ousted A.Arbuthnot in the next to level but wins from J.Johnston and R.Butler gave the hosts a 3-1 lead. Monkstown Captain S.Greenberg reduced the arrears but home wins from Arbuthnot and P.Harris gave Rockers a 5-2 interval lead. The Rockers piled on the pressure at the start of the 2nd session with a good finish from McClean and another win for Butler. The visitors responded well with G.Russell and a solid performance from P.Charles bringing the score back to 7-4. But the 3 points were assured to stay in Jacqs Bar when Arbuthnot beat Greenberg in a black ball fight. Harris stretched the lead to 9-4 but Monkstown took the last frame of the night courtesy of a fine break and dish from Russell against the in form Butler.

Bees 4-10 Spartans. The Whitehead team travelled up to Monkstown hoping to keep the pressure on Castle and Rockers above them in the League. They opened up with R.Hawkins fresh from his No 1 Ranking in the Northern Ireland Seniors International Qualifiers. But A. McMeekin wasn't worrying about reputations as he ripped out a pinpoint finish to give the home side a 1-0 lead. But Spartans soon led 2-1 through D.Lowe and a typical E.McDowell tactical frame. And at the break it was 6-1 courtesy of a classy McDowell break and dish, McWhirter x2 and English. The Bees pulled 1 back again through McMeekin but McWhirter restored the 5 frame advantage in frame 9. And the 3 points were guaranteed for the visitors when McDowell finished a tricky black for 8-2. Wins from English and Hawkins took it to 10-2 but the improving Bees team won the last 2 through McMeekin and Brown with a fine finish to give the match a more realistic scoreline. Although the proven pair of McDowell and McWhirter both scored 3/3, player of the match must go to McMeekin with a splendid hat trick of his own.
