Castle show Spartans no Charity !!!

League Champions Castle have lifted the first trophy of the season with a thrilling comeback against the Spartans. Castle trailed 7-2, but amazingly took 6 on the trot including the play off frame to seal a remarkeable win in a tremendous night of pool in the Buffs Club, Carrick. And it was Castle Captain Derek Whiteside who got his side over the line with a fine tactical display in the 15th frame. If this match sets the tone for the rest of the season, we are in for a treat. Best performer on the night was Ed McDowell with 3/3.

And thanks to everyone who helped raise £75 on the night for FASA, our League's chosen charity for the 2010/2011 season. Founded in 1995, FASA is a community based professional organisation providing services for those directly or indirectly affected by substance misuse or suicide/self harm.

The real McCoy starts in earnest next week. Whether your a Barbarian, a Rocker, a GI, a Scorpion, a Monkey, a Bee, a Spartan, a Pirate, a Dolly Mixture, a Castleman, or an Eastway or Alpha player the Committee of the Carrick & District League wish you all the best for the new season ahead.
