Carrick Pool League sponsored by SKC Gaming league doubles was drawn to a conclusion with three of the four finalists coming from the Scorpions pool team and the youngest at only 15 years old coming from Colts pool team. Father and son pairing of Chris and Jack Carson (pictured left) came from 3-0 down in the semis to reach the final. Paul Kerr and Mervyn McIlvenny (pictured below right) raced to 4-0 up (in the race to 6) but the Carson’s had a ‘never say die attitude’ and gallantly fought back to 5-5 against the former doubles champions.
In a tense final frame decider the father and son pairing made it over the line to lift the title 6-5.
Well done Chris and Jack.
Jack becomes the youngest player in our league's history to win a main event.
He is the third generation of the Carson family to get his name on a trophy in this league along with his father Chris and grandfather Brian before him.
