Bowlers Vs Q Club
It was a very close match between the Bowlers and the Q Club this week.
The Bowlers went 2-0 up straight off the bat with Gareth McIlwrath (injured) and Andy Comrie taking a frame each. Ian McCalmont from the Q Club answered with a frame followed by the Bowlers Ian Riley. The Q club took the next 2 then Ian Riley snatched another frame to take the score at half time to Bowlers 4 – Q Club 3.
In the second half Robert Hawkins got the Q club started levelling at 4 each, Andy Comrie snatched another frame and Kenny English levelled again for the Q Club at 5 each. Gareth McIlwrath bravely battled on with a broken finger to win frame 11, and Kenny English squared up at 6 all. The final 2 frames went to the Q club’s Ian McCalmont and Robert Hawkins but could easily have gone the other way.

Trojans swept into a 3-1 lead early on with wins for Andy Quinn, Alan Corrigan and Girvan Fleming, with form man Stephen Simpson the only winner for the home side.
John Fulton and Tigers man of the evening Davy Montgomery won the next 2 to level the scores at 3-3 only for Andy Quinn to win once more to leave the scores at 4-3
for the Trojans at the break. Stuart Kelly won the first game of the second set only for Davy Montgomery to win once more. 5-4 Trojans. Alan Corrigan with his second
win extended the lead to 6-4 and Stephen Simpson reduced the deficit once more to 6-5. Stephen Quinn put the Trojans on the hill and then Davy Montgomery with his
third win of the night reduced the score to 7-6. Last frame of the night saw Tom McGurk and Alan Corrigan square off, but the Trojans man of the evening got his third
win of the night to give the Trojans an 8-6 victory and leave the Tigers with a losing bonus point. An enjoyable night with some very tight games.
