- If anyone thought that all the transfer revelations in Carrick Pool League this week would knock the heart out of the Castle Pool team, they should have been in the Whitehead GRSC tonight. Although they went down 6-8 in an epic battle, the drive and team spirit that has always been Castle's trademark, nearly carried them to victory over Champions The Spartans. Castle started better and led 4-3 at the interval and then by 5-3, but Kenny English's Spartans are Champions for a reason and they took 5 out of the next 6 frames to creep over the line maybe rather fortunately at 8-6. Man of the match must go to Spartan Stephen Johnston. The big man who was ranked joint 1st at the World Championships a fortnight ago bagged a superb hat trick.
- After an 11-3 win at newcomers Jolly Beggar, The Rockers replace Greenisland at the top but only on frame difference, but with Dee Irwin and Rab Butler added to their ranks don't bet against them staying there right to the end. Leaders Greenisland led MSC Trojans 6-2 but Rab Brown who is steadily building a strong squad at the Monkstown Club seen his lads storm back for a draw. Gary Haggan put Greenisland on the hill at 7-6 but a Captains innings from Brown himself earned the visitors a deserved point.
- Hit Men & Her's wonderful season continues. After reaching the Final of the Knock Out Cup last night, they stayed in touch of the top of the table with a hard fought 8-6 win over Hugh McMurtry's Cowboys. With 2 frames to play the match was poised delicately at 6-6, but it was the Henderson brothers of Paul and Robert for the home team who took the honours for the home side. Robert scored a hat trick on the night and Glenn Russell scored 2/2
- Scorpions outclassed The Warriors 12-2 and Barbarians had a similar win over bottom team Alpha.
- And finally in the Rangers Supporters Clubs derby match it was Andy Lindsay's Carrick team who narrowly defeated Gordon McCormick's Whitehead boys by 8-6. Eastway had a bye this week.
