Robert Kennedy Memorial Scotch Doubles

Well done to Spartans Kenny English and Robert Hawkins. The duo have just won the innaugral event of the Robert Kennedy Memorial Scotch Doubles. In a final that went right to the wire and could have gone either way, they ousted the Monkstown Trojans double act of Rab Brown and Davy Montgomery by a 3-2 scoreline in Greenisland WMC on Saturday 28th July.

Our Leagues nominated charity for the 2011/2012 season was the Laurel House Cancer Unit in Antrim and proceeds raised on the day went towards this worthy cause. It gave us a fantastic amount of £420 overall which we will hand over to Laurel House on the night of our opening fixture for the new 2012/2013 season, the Charity Shield between Rockers and Spartans. Well done to everyone in the League for their efforts in raising the donation.

In the Plate Event today (Singles), Rockers new signing Johnny Madden showed he is more than capable of crossing the divide from Snooker to Pool, by winning the event beating Barbarians new signing Joe Patton in the Final.
